Howdy! {{waves}}
This is my first post on my brand-spanking-new WordPress blog.
Now, most of you who know me, know that I have been a blogger for quite a few years (almost a decade, which is I think a life time in Internet years.) So, why the “Hello, world” post? And, why the new blog, when I already have one that is perfectly functional?
Well, there are several reasons. First of all, while I have been using b2evolution for some time, I am beginning to feel the effects of “product lock in”, and I want to explore other options. Second, I want to gain some expertise in platforms that are more widely used. Third, I want to work with a blogging platform with neat features, like iPhone/iPad apps which would allow me to post from a non-PC platform.

And, last but not least, I attended WordCamp Houston at the Houston Museum of Natural Science yesterday (thanks to HostGator, from whom I won the ticket), and I wanted to have a chance to work with some of the neat stuff I learned about. |

I have decided to conduct an experiment. Over the next month, I will be posting my content on both blogs, to give me a chance to see how they compare head-to-head. I will try posting the content itself here, and simply linking to it from the other blog. If I find that I actually like this blog better, then at the end of August I will quit posting the links on the B2E blog, and transition everything over to this one.
It should prove an interesting experiment, and I hope you will enjoy the journey as much as I do.
