Photo-a-Day: Getting Up Close

Today is Day 16 of my Photo-a-Day self-assignment:

Uglyworms and the Bat

“We’re even uglier up close!” WORM WORM

The characters are not new: Uglyworms Yntch and Wyrm, and their new friend the Bat. What makes this different, though, is that I tried a new combination of features available on the Olympus OM-D E-M5 kit: the close-up setting of the 12-50mm zoom lens, and the Digital Tele-Converter feature on the camera itself, for a 35mm equivalence of an 86mm close-up lens. I do see some artifacts at full size, but at the size I normally use, it looks just fine!

(Note: This is part of a self-assignment I am trying, challenging myself to take – and post – at least one picture per day, each day, during the month of September. So, check back, and see what else I come up with!)
