Photo-a-Day: Bon Voyage, Endeavour

This is Day 20 of my Photo-a-Day self-assignment.

Yesterday I posted a photo of the Shuttle Endeavour atop its 747 carrier aircraft, as it was making a fly-by over Houston. This morning, I was out at sun-up, and shortly after 7AM, I saw a speck in the sky off to the east. As it drew closer, I kept taking pictures. Then, I got the shot I was aiming for:

Shuttle Endeavour atop 747, making a fly-by over downtown Houston

Shuttle Endeavour atop its 747, flying over the Chevron buildings in downtown Houston

Yes: the shuttle, making one last pass over downtown Houston prior to setting course for its final home in Los Angeles, flying over the building where I used to work (and, in fact, where I went to right after taking the photos.)

Godspeed, Endeavour.

(Note: This is part of a self-assignment I am trying, challenging myself to take – and post – at least one picture per day, each day, during the month of September. So, check back, and see what else I come up with!)
