So, I promised to get out and about more, and indeed I did. Spent several hours in the sunshine this past weekend, and got some gorgeous photos. Which, I promise to share with you… next week.
This week, I just have to show you a couple of shots I got at the Houston Museum of Natural Science this past weekend. It seems that every time I visit this place, I find something new. (Note: I live close enough that, weather permitting, I don’t bother to drive the van – I just take the wheelchair and head out.) Last Saturday, while I was there eating lunch and cooling off after several hours outdoors, was no different. I was behind a docent-led group, and my ears perked up when he mentioned something. So, when the group moved on, I moved in – and caught sight of

After that, I wondered “what else have I been missing?” I tend to focus on the dinosaurs, especially the big ones, so this time I decided to look at the smaller artifacts. My decision was rewarded when I spotted the following:
“Opalized”, as in “the stuff that opals are made of.” Which were like my mother’s favoritist jewelry in the whole world.
